In 1990, Elena's family moved to Calgary, Canada where she resumed teaching and training horses from basic to FEI levels. In 2002, Elena married and moved to Cleveland, OH where she has been teaching, training, and showing her own and students' horses. Throughout her equestrian career, Elena has personally trained 11 horses to the Grand Prix Level and within the last four years, has developestudents from Training level to FEI level who earned the USDF Silver Medal in 2010.

Top trainers have influenced Elena's successful career. As an FEI rider she has trained with noted International Olympian medal winners: Edward Gal, Steffen Peters, Lars Petersen, Michael Poulin, George Williams, Victor Ugrumov, and FEI Judge Christopher Hess. Elena has also trained with World Cup Finalist Jan Ebeling, as well as Walter Zettl, and Major Miguel Tavora.

Elena's goals are to qualify for the World Equestrian Games and for the Olympic Games. 

Born in Minsk, Belarus, Elena was introduced to riding at the age of six, and began focusing on Dressage at the age of 14. From 1984 to 1990 Elena competed at different International Dressage Competitions and at age 16, she won the Young Riders Championship of the Soviet Union (USSR). The following year, at age 17, Elena won the Young Riders Grand Prix Championships for Belarus, Latvia, and Russia and was recognized as Equestrian Master in Dressage of the Soviet Union (USSR). She received her Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals in the USSR, Latvia, and Belarus. As a young rider, in 1987, 1988, and 1989, Elena was short-listed for the USSR Olympic Team.


 

Elena has two sons born in 2003 and 2009. She is devoted to her family, but has continued her dedication to teaching her riding students and the training of Adesco C, her 2012 Olympic hopeful stallion. Elena bought Adesco C in 2005 and broke him as a 3 year-old. In the past five years, Elena has trained Adesco C to the Grand Prix level winning numerous awards outlined below. She currently has a part-time job as a Dental Hygienist in order to assist with her family's financial support. Elena holds a dual citizenship with the USA and Canada.
